Check The Merch Ltd (“CTM”, “we”, “us”) is the controller of the personal information described in this notice.
Information we collect
When you join the seller waiting list, we collect your name, email address, seller type, selected merchandise categories, any optional notes, the date and time of consent, and basic technical records needed to operate and secure the form.
If you later contact us, we may also keep the content of your message and our response.
How and why we use it
We use waiting-list information to record your interest, assess the mix of prospective sellers, contact you about beta access and launch updates, prevent abuse, and operate and improve the pre-launch service.
Our lawful bases are your consent for optional beta and launch communications, and our legitimate interests in administering the waiting list, securing the service and planning the marketplace. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who receives the information
We use trusted service providers to host the website, store waiting-list records and send transactional email. These currently include Vercel, Supabase and Resend. They process information only to provide services to CTM and are subject to their own security and data-protection obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose it if required by law or if necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
International transfers
Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on recognised safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual protections.
How long we keep it
We keep waiting-list information while CTM is preparing and running the founding-seller beta and for as long as needed to manage your requested updates. We will delete or anonymise it when it is no longer needed, or sooner if you withdraw and there is no legal reason to retain it. Limited records may be retained where required for security, suppression or legal compliance.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask us for access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or to object to processing. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
To exercise a right or leave the waiting list, email privacy@checkthemerch.com or write to our registered office. We may need to verify your identity.
Cookies and analytics
The current pre-launch site does not use advertising cookies. Essential technical data may be processed to deliver and secure the site. If we add non-essential analytics or marketing cookies, we will update this notice and request consent where required.
Children
The seller waiting list is not intended for anyone under 18. Please do not submit details if you are under 18.
Complaints and updates
Please contact us first if you have a privacy concern. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
We may update this notice as CTM develops. The latest version will always appear on this page.
